Course Details

This essential eLearning CPD course on the topic of modern day slavery will give educators a wide-ranging appreciation of the UK legislation that covers slavery and how to spot the key signs of child exploitation so appropriate support can be given.

As with other CPD courses, this resource is suitable for anyone who works in an education environment, including teachers, teaching assistants, pastoral support and/or youth workers, SENCOs and residential childcare staff.

Participants will learn that modern day slavery is often a ‘hidden crime’ that targets the most vulnerable people, often young people. The term ‘modern slavery’ refers to a series of different forms of exploitation. These include human trafficking, domestic servitude, and sexual, criminal and labour exploitation.

During the course, education professionals can gain the necessary insight and knowledge about the grooming process and how to safeguard against it, along with how to protect those involved and report individuals of concern.

If you work with children that could potentially be at risk of exploitation or just want to gain new knowledge about what is meant by modern day slavery and which legislation relates to it, this training is ideal for you and can be used to gain CPD points.
